INSURANCE OTHER THAN LIFE.

Section 1684. Proceedings for incorporation. Corporations formed for the purpose of insurance, other than life insurance, shall be governed by the provisions of chapter one of this title, except as modified by the provisions of this chapter. [C. '73, § 1122.]

Sec. 1685. Articles-approval. Each such organization shall present to the auditor of state its articles of incorporation, which shall show its name, objects, location of its principal place of business and amount of its capital stock, who shall submit it to the attorney-general for examination, and if found by him to be in accordance with the provisions of this title, the laws of the United States, and the constitution and laws of the state, he shall certify such fact thereon and return the same to the auditor, and no articles shall be approved by the auditor or recorded unless accompanied with such certificate. Sec. 1686. Certificate-recording. If the auditor approves them, he shall so certify, and the articles with the certificates of approval shall be recorded in the office of the secretary of state as articles of other corporations are, who shall indorse thereon his certificate thereof, as is required in case of other corporations for pecuniary profit. Sec. 1687. Name. If the auditor finds the name of the company to be so similar to one already appropriated by a corporation of the same character as to be likely to mislead the public or to cause inconvenience, he shall refuse his certificate to its articles on that ground. [C. '73, § 1122.]*
