BE IT REMEMBERED, that on the twelfth day of November, A. D. 1825, and in the fiftieth year of the Independence of the United States of America, John Prentiss of the said District, has deposited in this office the title of a book, the right whereof he claims as proprietor, in the words following, to wit: "The LITERARY AND SCIENTIFIC CLASS BOOK, embracing the leading facts and principles of Science. Illustrated by engravings, with many difficult words explained at the heads of the lessons, and questions annexed for examination; designed as exercises for the reading and study of the higher classes in common schools. Selected from the Rev. John Platts' Literary and Scientific Class Book, and from various other sources, and adapted to the wants and condition of youth in the United States. By LEVI W. LEONARD."
