HYMN 71. C. M.
Universal Praise. Ps. xlvii.
To God the sov'reigo King !
And hymns of triumpb sing.
Let mortals learn their strains ;
O'er all the earth he reigns.
Let knowledge lead the song ;
Upon a thoughtless tongue.
He lov'd tbat chosen race ;
HYMN 72. S. M.
And let his praise be great ;
His most delightful seat. 2 Far as thy name is known,
The world declares thy praise ; Thy saints, O Lord, before thy throne
Their songs of honour raise. 3 Let strangers walk around
The city where we dwell ; Compass and view thy holy ground,
And mark the building well; 4 The order of thy house,
The worship of tby court,
And make a fair report.
5 How decent and how wise !
How glorious to behold !
And rites adorn'd with gold. 6 The God we worship now
Will guide us till we die ;
Our God above the sky.
HYMN 73. L. M.
Divine Protection, Grace and Truth. Ps. Ivii.
Of boundless love, and grace unknown;
Till the dark cloud be overblown.
The Lord will my desires perform :
And saves me from the threat’ning storm.
And land to land thy wooders tell.
Immortal honours to thy name ;
My tongue, the glory of my frame.
And reaches to the utmost sky ;
When lower worlds dissolve and die. 6 Be thou exalted, O my God !
Above the heav'os where angels dwell;
HYMN 74. C. M.
For the Lord's Day Morning. Ps. Ixiii.
I haste to seek thy face,
Without thy cheering grace.
Beneath a burning sky,
And they must drink or die.
Through all tby temple shine ;
That vision so divine.
Cao please my soul so well,
And in thy presence dwell. 5 Not life itself, with all its joys,
Can my best passions move ;
As thy forgiving love.
I'll bless my God and Kiog;
HYMN 75. S. M.
Delight ia Divine Worship. Ps. lxiii.
With joy to call thee mine ;
To taste thy love divine.
I long to find my place ;
3 For life, without thy love, No relish can afford
; No joy can be compar'd with this,
To serve and please the Lord. 4 To thee I'll lift my hands,
And praise thee whilst I live ;
Such pure delight can give.
To thee my spirit flies;
My cheerful hope relies.
My soul in safety keeps ;
And he supports my steps.
HYMN 76. C. M. Jesus crowned Lord of all. Isa. xi.10. Hab. ii.14. Rom. xi.25,26.
LL hail the power of Jesus' name !
Let angels prostrate fall :
And own him Lord of all. 2 Ye chosen seed of Israel's
race, A remnant weak and small
ll; Hail him who saves you by his grace,
Aod own him Lord of all.
The worin wood and the gall ;
And own him Lord of all.
Who feel your sin and tbrail, Now joy with all the bosts above,
And own bim Lord of all.
On this terrestrial ball,
And own him Lord of all.
6 O that with yonder sacred throng,
We at his feet may fall! We'll join the everlasting song, And own him Lord of all.
God will a feast prepare ;
Shall in the banquet share.
His bounteous hand bestows : Wine on the lees, and well refin'd,
la rich abundance flows. 3 See to the vilest of the vile
A free acceptance given ! See rebels, by adopting grace,
Sit with the heirs of heaven ! 4 The pain'd, the sick, the dying now
To ease and health restor'd, With eager appetites partake
The plenties of the board.
Wbat dainties shall be given,
We join the feast of heaven.
Shall overflow the soul,
