This Hymn is sung annually, at 5 o'clock A. M., on the 1st of May, by the Choir of St. Mary Magdalen College, Oxford, upon the top of the Tower, in lieu of a Requiem which, before the Reformation, was performed in the same place for the soul of Henry VII. The Rectory of Slimbridge, in Gloucestershire, is charged with the annual payment of £10 for the performance of this service.
