LUPI-LOPI, Maitre de Chapelle at Lisbon, born in 1518.

He resided with the Court at Munich, where he died,
in 1593.

PIERLUIGI DA PALESTRINA, born in the year 1529, at
Palestrina, was Maestro di Capella of St. Peter's at
Rome. He died at the age of 45.

MARENZIO LUCA, died at Rome, 1599.

TOMASO LUDOVICO DE VITTORIA, Chapel Master of the Church of St. APOLLENORE at Rome. Some of his Sacred Music was published at Rome in 1583.

PETER CERTON, 1549.

FRANCESCO DELLA PORTA, Organist, Composer, and Chapel Master of St. Antonio's Church at Milan. He died in 1666.

SALVATOR ROSA, born at Naples, 1615.

ANTONIO LOTTI, flourished from 1670 to 1730. Master of the Chapel at St. Mark's Church, Venice.

CARISSIMI (GIACOMO), Chapel Master of the German College at Rome, and of the Pontifical Chapel, from about the year 1640.

MARCELLO (BENEDETTO), a noble Venetian, was born in 1686.

BASSANI GIOVANNI, Master of the Chapel at the Cathedral, and Accademia della Morte at Ferrara. He flourished from 1684 to 1696.

CLARI (CARLO MARIA), of Pisa, Chapel Master of the Cathedral of Pistoja, died about 1710,

SABBATINI DE BERNARDO, Master of the Chapel to the Duke of Parma; flourished about the conclusion of the 17th century.

PERGOLESI (GIOVANNI BATTISTA), was born near Naples in 1704.

LEO (LEONARDO), born at Naples, in 1694. He was a pupil of Alessandro Scarlatti.

FIOCCO JOSEPH HECTOR, jun. flourished in 1730.
