4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. /

5 And the waters 2 decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.

6 IT And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened g the window of the ark which he had made:

7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth * to and fro, untd the waters were dried up from off the earth.

8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;

9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth- Then he put forth his hand, and took her, and : pulled her in unto him into the ark.

10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark:

II And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf, pluckt off. So Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

13 IT And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day 01 the month, was the earth dried.

15 II And God spake unto Noah, saying,

17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that crecpeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and A be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and liis wife, and his sons' wives with him:

20 "IT And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of i every clean beast, and of eveiy clean fowl, and offered burnt-oiferingson the altar.

21 And the Lord smelled a 6 sweet savour; k and the Lord said in his heart, 1 will not again I curse the ground any more for man's sake; 'for the mimagination of man's heart is evil fromhis youth; neither willl again nsmite anymore every tiling living, as I have done.

ND the whole earth was of one language, and of one 2 speech.

2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed a from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

3 And 4 they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, arid & burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.

4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, a whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a ftname, lest we be scattered c abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

5 And the Lord came down dto see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have e imagined to do.

7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound /their language, that they may not understand one another s speech.

8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the faco of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

9 Therefore is the name of it called o Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth : and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face g of all the earth.
