The Society of Cymmrodorion was founded in 1751 and revived in 1873. A set of its publications is incomplete without a copy of the scarce work now offered. The title-page mentions 107 plates only, and Lowndes describes the book as having but 9 plates of mammals and 98 of birds, in all, 107.
