Ezek. xxxvi. 31. Then shall ye remember your own evil way, and your doings that were not good, and shall loath yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities, and for your abominations.

Matt. ix. 13. I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Acts, v. 31. Him hath God exalted with his right hand, to be a Prince and Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness

of sins.

Acts, iii. 26. Unto you first, God having raised up his Son Jesus, and sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Zech. xii. 10. They shall look upon me whom they have pierced.

The grace of faith.-John, vi. 45. It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard and learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Phil. i. 29. Unto you it is given to believe in Christ.

Eph. ii. 8. For by grace ye are saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Grace to fear God.--Jer. xxxii. 40. I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever.

IX. Knowledge, Wisdom, &c.

Knowledge.-Prov. ii. 5. Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. Ver. 9. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

Prov. xxxviii. 5. Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the Lord understand all things.

Is. ii. 3. He will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Is. xxix. 18. And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. Ver. 24. They also that erred in spirit, shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.

ls. xxxv. 8. And an high way shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called the way of holiness: the unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

Is. lii. 6. My people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day, that I am he that speaketh.

Is. xxxii. 3. And the eyes of them that see, shall not be dim; and the ears of them that hear, shall hearken.

Is. xlii. 7. To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

Hos. vi. 3. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord.

Matt. xi. 25. I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

2 Cor. iv. 6. God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God, in the face of Jesus Christ.

1 John, v. 20. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding that we may know him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ.

Luke, i. 77. To give knowledge of salvation unto his people, by the remission of their sins. Ver. 78. Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the day-spring from on high hath visited us. Ver. 79. To give light to them that sit in darkness, and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet in the way of peace.

John, viii. 12. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me, shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

1 Cor. ii. 14. The natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Ver. 15. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things.

Wisdom.-Prov. ii. 6. The Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. Ver. 7. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous.

James, i. 5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Eccl. ii. 26. For God giveth to man that is good in his sight, wisdom and knowledge. Divine teaching.-Ps. xxxii. 8. 1 will instruct thee, and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will guide thee with mine eye.

Ps. xxv. 8. Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. Ver. 12. What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

John, vii. 17. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

Divine guidance.-Ps. xxiii. 3. He restor

eth my soul: h leadeth me in the paths of righteousness, fo. his name's sake.

Ps. lxxiii. 24. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel.

Is. xlix. 10. H that hath mercy on them shall lead them; :ven by the springs of water shall he guide them.

Is. lvii. 11. And the Lord shall guide thee continually.

Is. lxi. 8. I will direct their work in truth. Deut. xxxii. 10. He led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. Ver. 11. As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young ones, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings, so the Lord alone did lead him.

Is. xxx. 21. Thine ear shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn unto the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Ability for good discourse.-Prov. x. 31. The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom. Ver. 32. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable.

Is. xxxii. 4. The heart of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

Prov. xvi. 1. The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord.
