Ps. xxvi. 1. I have trusted in the Lord, therefore I shall not slide.

Ps. xviii. 30. He is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

Ps. xxxi. 19. O how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee! which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee, before the sons of men! Ver. 24. Be of good courage; and he shall strengthen your hearts, all ye that hope in the Lord.

Ps. xxxiv. 8. O taste and see that the Lord is good: Blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Ps. lxxxiv. 12.

Ps. xxxiv. 22. The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants, and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

Ps. xxxvii. 3. Trust in the Lord, and do good: so shalt thou dwell in the land; and verily thou shalt be fed. Ver. 9. Those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. Ver. 40. The Lord shall help and deliver them: he will deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

Ps. xl. 4. Blessed is the man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Ps. lvi. 4. In God I will praise his word; in God I have put my trust: I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Ps. cxii. 7. He shall not be afraid of evil

tidings; his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. Ver. 8. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

Ps. cxxv. 1. They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed for ever.

Ps. cxlvi. 5. Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God.

Prov. xvi. 3. Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thought shall be established. Ver. 20. Whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he.

Prov. xxviii. 25. He that putteth his trust in the Lord shall be made fat.

Prov. xxix. 25. Whoso putteth his trust in the Lord, shall be safe.

Is. xxv. 9. Lo! this is our God, we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord, we have waited for him, we shall be glad, and rejoice in his salvation.

Is. xxvi. 3. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in thee. Ver. 4. Trust ye in the Lord for ever; for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. Ver. 18. Blessed are all they that wait for him.

Is. xlix. 23. They shall not be ashamed that wait for me.

Is. lvii. 13. He that putteth his trust in me,

shall possess the land, and inherit my holy mountain.

Jer. xvii. 7. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. Ver. 8. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaves shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Neh. i. 7. The Lord knoweth them that trust in him.

Lam. iii. 25. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. Ver. 26. It is good that a man should both hope, and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

Mic. vii. 7. I will look unto the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

1 Pet. v. 7. Cast all your care upon him, for he careth for you.

Rom. viii. 24. We are saved by hope.

VII. To the fear of God.

Ps. xxv. 14. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him, and he will show them his covenant.

Ps. xxxi. 19. O how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee.

Ps. Ixxxv. 9. Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him.

Ps. ciii. 11. As the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy towards them that fear him.

Ps. cxv. 13. He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

Ps. cxxviii. 1. Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord, that walketh in his ways. Ps. cxlvii. 11. The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him.

Prov. xiv. 27. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. Ver. 26. In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence, and his children shall have a place of refuge.

Prov. xvi. 6. By the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

Prov. iii. 7. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. Ver. 8. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Prov. xix. 23. The fear of the Lord tendeth to life, and he that hath it shall abide satisfied: he shall not be visited with evil.

Eccl. viii. 12. It shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him.

Mal. iv. 2. Unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in his wings.

Luke, i. 50. His mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation,

Acts, x. 35. In every nation he that feareth him, worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Acts, xiii. 26. Whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation

sent.

Honouring God.-1 Sam. ii. 30. Them that honour me, I will honour.

Prov. iii. 9. Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase. Ver. 10. So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

VIII. To Prayer.

Job, xxxiii. 26. He shall pray unto God, and he shall be favourable unto him, and he shall see his face with joy.

Exod. xxxiv. 24. Neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to ap pear before the Lord thy God, thrice in the year.

Ps. x. 17. Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare thine heart; thou wilt cause thine ear to hear.

Ps. vi. 9. The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayers.

Ps. xviii. 3. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
