37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew9 not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. do. vii. 5: Noah did according to all that the LORD commanded him. a MAT. xxii. 2: The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son. JOHN, iii. 29: He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. Rom. vii. 4: Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead, to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. 2 COR. xi. 2: For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. EPH. v. 23, 25, 27, 29, 32: For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the Church; and he is the Saviour of the body. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Church, and gave himself for it; that he might present it to himself a glorious Church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the Church: This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the Church. REV. xix. 7: Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him; for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. do. xxi. 2, 9: I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
