Ant. Blessed be the Name of the LORD from this time forth for ever

. I said, LORD, be merciful unto me. Ry. Heal my soul, for I have sinned against Thee. . Turn Thee again, O LORD, at the last. Ry. And be gracious unto Thy servants. . O LORD, let Thy mercy be showed upon us. Ry. As we do put our trust in Thee. V. Let Thy Priests be clothed with righteousness. R. And let Thy saints sing with joyfulness. V. LORD, hear our prayer. R. And let our cry come unto Thee. . Let us pray.

448. Pour, we beseech Thee, O LORD GOD, the spirit of truth and peace upon Thy servants, that we may fully know what is pleasing which we know in perfect harmony unto Thee, and may follow that of will. Through.

Ant. It is a good thing to give in the Name, &c. thanks unto the LORD.

Ps. 101. My song shall be, &c. 108 (1-7.) O GOD, my heart is ready... hear Thou me.

Ant. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD; and to sing praises unto Thy Name, O most Highest.

The Chapter. 2 Chron. xx.

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD, for His mercy endureth for ever. And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

I clothe thee in the white garment of the surplice, and see that thou serve GOD, and sing His praise, that thou mayest hereafter be admitted into the ranks of those who, having washed their robes, and made them white in the Blood of the Lamb, stand before the Throne of GOD serving Him day and night continually.

He gives the chorister the Psalter, saying,

See that what thou singest with thy mouth, thou believe in thy heart, and show forth by thy works.

Ant. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary.

Ant. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and praise the LORD.

Thy holy hill and to Thy dwelling. y. Let Thy priests be clothed with righteousness. Ry. And let Thy saints sing with joyfulness. . LORD, hear, &c. Ry. And let, &c. ỹ. Let us pray.

449. O LORD GOD Almighty, behold and sanctify this Thy servant, grant that he may in all wisdom and understanding sing Thy praises, and keep him in the holy

fellowship of the saints, through the mercy and lovingkindness of Thine Only-begotten SON, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the HOLY GHOST, One GOD, world without end. Amen.

Benediction. CHRIST, the Lamb of GOD, Whose Name you celebrate on earth, grant you to sing His new song amongst the choirs of angels in heaven.

OFFICE FOR ADMITTING A SERVER.

. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my GOD. Ry. Than to dwell in the tents of ungodliness. . Glory, &c. R. As it was, &c.

Ant. My voice shalt Thou hear betimes, O LORD.

Ps. 5. Ponder my words, &c. Ant. My voice shalt Thou hear betimes, O LORD, early in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee, and will look up.

The Priest addresses the candidate.

P. My son, what dost thou desire ?

A. I desire to minister to the Priests of the LORD at His holy

450. Bless, O LORD, this Thy servant, as Thou didst bless Samuel who ministered to Thine High Priest Eli, and Elisha who ministered to Thy Prophet Elijah, and grant him so devoutly to serve at Thine Altar on earth, that he may
