Our Church has in this Office provided against the at. Christian Parents be under concern if their Child should be tacks of sickness, or any pressing necessity of this nature,, without it ; provided it is not owing to their own negligence which may happen before the Child can receive public Bapo or impiety. the Children, must be ready at the Font, either immediately after the last Liffon at Morning Prayer, or else immediately.

LMIGHTY and immortal God, the aid of all that need, the helper of all that flee to thee for succour, be coming to thy holy Baptism, may receive remifiion of bis lins by spiritual regeneration." After the Gospel is read, the Minister shall make this brief Exhortation upon the words of the Gospel.

ELOVED, ye hear in this Gospel the words of our Saviour Christ

, that he conim nded the children to be brought' unto him ; how he blamed those that would have kept them from him ; how he exhorieth all men to follow their innocency. Ye perceive how by his outward gesture and deed, he declared his good will toward them'; for he embraced them in his arms, he laid his hands upon them, and blered them. Doubt ye not therefore, but earnestly believe, that he will likewife favourably receive this present Infant ; that he will embrace him with the arins of his mercy ; that he will give unto bim the blessing of eternal life, and make him partaker of his everlasting kingdoin. Wherefore being thus persuaded of the good will of our heavenly Father towards this Infant, declared by his Son Jesus Chrift; and nothing doubting, but that he favourably alloweth this charitable work of our's, in bringing ibis Infant to his holy baptism ; let us faithfully and devoutly give thanks unto him and say,

IMIGHTY and everlasting Go.l, heavenly Father, we give thee humble thanks, that thou haft confirm this faith in us evermose. EARLY beloved ye have brought this Child here to be baptized; ye have prayed that our Lord Jesus to give him the kingdom of heaven, and everlasting life. Ye have heard also. that cur Lord Jesus Chrift bach promised in his Gospel to grant all thelc things that ye have prayed for : which promise, he for his part will molt surely keep and perform. Wher fore, after this promise made by Christ, this Infant must also faithfully for bis part, promise by you that are bis fureties (until be co.de of age to take it upon bimself;) that he will renounce the devil and all his works, and constantly beiieve Gol's holy Word, and obediently keep his Commandments. Answ. Yes verily; and by Gods help fo I will. And I heartily thank our heavenly Father, that he hath called me to this state of salvation through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Aud I pray unto God to give me his grace, that I may continue in the same unto my lifes end,
