Early Modern English Lives: Autobiography and Self-representation, 1500-1660Through this study of self-representation in the early modern period, the authors hope to contribute to undertandings of 'the self' in 16th- and 17th-century England. Their interest is in unearthing and illustrating the many presuppositions and contradictions that informed meanings of 'indivduality'. |
