CHRISTIAN LITURGY.

INTRODUCTIONS.

My soul, rest thou on God alone,
For from him cometh thy help!

He alone is my rock and my salvation:
He is my safeguard; I shall not fall.
From God cometh my help and my glory;
My strong rock, my refuge, is God.
Trust in him at all times, ye people!
Pour out your hearts before him!

God is our refuge! Ps. lxii. 5-8.

[ocr errors]

Thus saith the high and holy One

That inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy :

I dwell in the high and holy place;

With him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit;

To revive the spirit of the humble,

And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Isa. lvii. 15.

(7)

O, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. - Ps. xxxiv. 3.

I will walk among you; and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people. - Lev. xxvi. 12.

Ye are the temple of the living God. - 2 Cor. vi, 16.

The temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Cor. iii. 17.

God hath sent forth the spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father! So, then, thou art no longer a bond-servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.-Gal. iv. 6, 7.

Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God! 1 John iii. 1.

Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and every one that loveth hath been born of God, and knoweth God; he that loveth not hath not known God, for God is love.

We have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John iv. 7, 8, 16.
