When we forsake our sins, thou art faithful to forgive us, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

May we love one another, that God may dwell in us, and his love be perfected in us, that we may be free from all fear.

May we be born of God, and overcome the world.

May we remember that the world passes away, with all that is in it; may we seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.

May we live in deed and in truth, and assure our hearts before thee.

May the love which we have for each other, be our evidence that we love thee, O God.

Heavenly Father, hear our prayers for thy mer

cy's sake.

Glory be to God Most High, the ever blessed Father;

Who is, and was, and shall be; world without end. Amen.

CHOIR. (P. M.)

As down in the sinless retreats of the ocean,

Sweet flowers are springing, no mortal can see,
So, deep in my soul, the still prayer of devotion,
Unheard by the world, rises silent to Thee;
My God! silent to thee—

Pure, warm, silent to thee.

THIRTY-FIRST SERVICE.

MAY we stand fast in our liberty. Brethren, use not your liberty for selfish ends, but by your love serve one another.

The whole law is fulfilled in one commandment: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Walk by the Spirit. For the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, temperance; against such things as these there is no law.

If we live by the spirit, we shall also walk by the spirit.

Brethren, if a man be detected in a fault, do ye who are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering yourselves lest you also be tempted.

Let us bear one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of love.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatever a man soweth, that will he also reap; for he that soweth to the flesh, will of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the spirit, will of the spirit reap life everlasting.

Let us not be weary in well-doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have opportunity, let us do good unto all.

May you be greatly strengthened in your inward life by the Spirit of God; may you be able to comprehend what is the length, and breadth, and depth, and height, and to know the love which passeth knowledge, that you may be filled unto all the fulness of God.

Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us, be glory forever and ever.

May we walk with all humility and meekness; with long-suffering; bearing with one another in love; en

deavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond

of peace.

May we be one body with one spirit, being called in one hope.

O Thou, who art the one God and Father of all, who art over all, and through all, and in us all, may we, through the unity of faith and knowledge, come to a fulness of manhood.

By cleaving to truth in love, may we grow up unto a perfect body in Christ.

May we be renewed in the spirit of our minds, and put on the new life which is of God, in righteousness, holiness, and truth.

May we speak the truth, every one with his neighbor, as we are members one of another.

May all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil-speaking, with all malice, be put away from us; and may we be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God forgiveth us.

May we be followers of God, as dear children, and walk in love.

May we be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in our hearts to the Lord.

May we give thanks always for all things to God, the Father.

Help us to be strong in Thee, and in the power of thy might; to take up the whole armor of God, that we may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand, girded with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, and our feet shod with the gospel of peace; taking the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit.

May we pray at all times in the spirit; to this end may we watch, that we may have confidence to speak the truth.

Peace be to all, and love with faith. Amen.

[blocks in formation]

As still to the star of its worship, though clouded,
The needle points faithfully o'er the dim sea,
So, dark when I roam, in the wintry world shrouded,
The hope of my spirit turns trembling to Thee,
My God, trembling to Thee,

True, sure, trembling to Thee.
