Line of Road.-Big Sioux River to Big Sheyenne River, Dakota.....300 miles. This road will follow up the valley of the Missouri river between the affluents named. Between the mouth of the Big Sioux and Yancton, the capital of Dakota Territory, about 60 miles, has been surveyed and let, to be completed by Sept. 1, 1871. Capital stock, $6,000,000; subscribed, $1,000,000.

No bonds have as yet been issued.

The extension of this road to Cumberland, at which point it will form a junction with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, is rapidly approaching completion and will probably be opened for traffic before January 1, 1871. The length of the road will then be 150 miles, and the distance from Pittsburg to Baltimore 328 miles.

Rolling Stock.-Locomotive engines-1st class, 4; 2d class, 4; and 3d class, etc., 7—total, 15 engines. Cars-passenger, 13; baggage, 5; and freight (box, 80; stock, 12; platform, 18; and coal, 8), 118-total, 136 cars. Also, 18 service cars. Operations for the year ending October 31, 1869 :

Trains run-passenger, 155,843; freight, 250,162; and ballast, 19,336-total, 425,

341 miles. Passengers carried-east, 282,698; and west, 179,426-total, 462,124; carried one mile, 4,912,503. The Baltimore loan is now second in priority to the new 7 p. c. mortgage bonds the councils of that city having waived their first claim in favor of the new issue. Statement of condition and results of operations for ten years:

The Fayette County Railroad, 13 miles, was opened June 1, 1860, and leased for ninety-nine years from November 1, 1861. The Turtle Creek Division, 10 miles, was opened October 10, 1861. Previous to the completion of the Turtle Creek Division, the Pennsylvania Railroad was used between Brinton's and Pittsburg.
