AN ACT to provide for the ceding to the United States of
America exclusive jurisdiction over the site and grounds
selected, or to be hereafter selected, for the erection of a public
building for the use of the United States postoffice, custom
house, court, internal revenue office, and other public offices
of the United States in the city of Kalamazoo, Michigan,
during the time the United States shall be or remain the owner
thereof, for all purposes except the administration of the
criminal laws of the State of Michigan, and the service of
civil process therein.

AN ACT to amend section one of act number one hundred and
fifty-seven of the session laws of eighteen hundred and eighty-
one, entitled "An act to authorize the incorporation of a Mich-
igan Millers' Mutual Fire Insurance Company," approved May
nineteenth, eighteen hundred and eighty-one, being section four
thousand three hundred and nine of Howell's Annotated
Statutes, as amended by act number seven of the session laws
of eighteen hundred and eighty-five.

SECTION 1. The People of the State of Michigan enact, That
section one of act number one hundred and fifty-seven of the ses-
sion laws of eighteen hundred and eighty-one, entitled "An act to
authorize the incorporation of a Michigan Millers' Mutual Fire
Insurance Company," approved May nineteenth, eighteen hundred
and eighty-one, being section four thousand three hundred and nine
of Howell's Annotated Statutes, as amended by act number seven
of the session laws of eighteen hundred and eighty-five, be and
the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:

AN ACT for the relief of Cornelius Dwyer and providing that the property of his wife shall not be subject to the law of escheats.

WHEREAS, Sarah Dwyer died on the eleventh day of May, eighteen hundred and eighty-eight, at Sears, Osceola county, Michigan, intestate, owning real property in Osceola and in Lake counties, and then being a resident of said county of Osceola, and leaving a husband, Cornelius Dwyer, now living, and leaving at her death no father, mother, brother nor sister, nor issue, nor other lineal descendant, nor of brothers or sisters; therefore

SECTION 1. The People of the State of Michigan enact, That the probate court of Osceola county shall have and entertain jurisdiction of a petition by Cornelius Dwyer of Sears, Michigan, to be declared the legal heir of Sarah Dwyer, late of said Sears, now deceased.

SEC. 2. If, on the hearing of such petition, said probate court shall find to be true the facts set forth in the preamble of this act, the State hereby releases all its claim, by way of escheat, to the real estate left by said Sarah Dwyer, and the Auditor General, State Treasurer and Secretary of State, known as the Board of Escheats, are hereby authorized and required to convey to Cornelius Dwyer all of the interest which the State of Michigan has heretofore or may hereafter acquire in and to the real estate left Probate court by Sarah Dwyer, and the probate court is authorized to make a *Became a law under section 14, article IV. of the constitution, without the approval of the Governor.

AN ACT giving the assent of the Legislature of the State of
Michigan to the grant of moneys from the United States by act
of Congress approved March second, eighteen hundred and
eighty-seven, being an act to establish agricultural experiment
stations in connection with the colleges established in the sev-
eral states under the provisions of an act of Congress approved
July second, eighteen hundred and sixty-two, and acts supple-
mentary thereto.

The People of the State of Michigan enact, That Assent given the legislative assent required by section nine, of act of Congress accepted. approved March second, eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, being an act entitled "An act to establish agricultural experiment stations in connection with the colleges established in the several states, under the provisions of an act approved July second, eighteen hundred and sixty-two, and acts supplementary thereto," is hereby given, and the moneys thereby given are accepted under the conditions and terms in said act named.

AN ACT to provide for the re-compilation and copying of the records in the office of the Adjutant General pertaining to the enlistment, muster and final disposition of the volunteer soldiers from this State during the war of the rebellion, and to make an appropriation therefor.

SECTION 1. The People of the State of Michigan enact, That Re-compilation the Adjutant General is hereby authorized and directed to provide suitable books and to re-compile and copy from papers now on file in his office, or from such other official papers as he may obtain, the military history of each and every soldier who enlisted from and was credited to this State during the war of the rebellion. Such history shall show, as far as may be possible, the name, age, date of enlistment and final disposition of each such soldier. SEC. 2. The sum of four thousand dollars is hereby appropri- Appropriation. ated, or so much thereof as may be necessary, out of any moneys in the State treasury, to the credit of the general fund not otherwise appropriated, for the purposes mentioned in this act. Auditor General shall draw his warrant upon the State Treasurer upon the certificate of the Adjutant General, not to exceed the sum of four thousand dollars, as the same may be required to carry out the provisions of this act.

SEC. 3. The Auditor General shall add to and incorporate in Tax.
the State tax for the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
nine the sum of four thousand dollars, to be assessed, levied and
collected as other State taxes are assessed, levied and collected,
which sum, when collected, shall be placed to the credit of the
general fund to reimburse it for the sum appropriated by section
two of this act.
