We can scarcely take up an hi; tories I work of any extent, or a newspaper, without reading of Public Officers and appoiutmeoi»,of which we have little or no information. How many are there who could correctly define the fullowiug offices ΗAvener, Yeoman Hanger, Yeoman Bed* goer, etc, or even the better known offices of Almooer, Groom of the Stole, etc.
