race, has not been made so uncompromising and noble a protest against the fiendish tyranny of the slave-holder entered,-it is a spirit-call to the nations,-an indictment against these inhuman traffickers, these monster-masters of human shambles,—it is full of the most striking but unexaggerated pictures exhibiting some of the chief phases of this worlds-shame.

Truly do we sympathize with the noble-hearted lady, and wish this spirit portion of herself God speed on its holy mission, its sanctified crusade against this stupendous monster. We give it most unqualified praise, and unhesitatingly pronounce it one of the most sterling novels which has appeared in our language in these latter days. As we before hinted, our space will not permit us to enlarge, nor can we give any extract, but we most heartily commend it to our readers,-judge for yourselves!
