I • SPooie is an equivalent and mezsure of commodities and labour. agreed through all trading countries, to save the inconveniencies of barter. 2. Bank-notes serve all the purposes of specie much better, and are every way as good, so far as their credit reaches. 3. Specie gives us only the readier use of the commodities which we would barter.
