ber, 1839, for and against the amendment to the constitution of the state, proposed by the legislature of 1838, and agreed to and submitted to the people by the legislature of 1839, by a joint resolution, entitled "A joint resolution relative to an amendment to the constitution," approved April 18, 1839.

The whole number of votes given both for and against said amendment to the constitution of the state, was one hundred, and they were given as follows: Fifty of them for the amendment, and fifty of them against the amendment.

The whole number of votes given for the said office of Governor was forty-nine, and they were given for the following persons, viz: Ten of them for A B; eighteen of them for DC; and twenty one of them for E F.

The whole number of votes given for the said office of Lieutenant Governor was fifty-four, and they were given for the following persons, viz: Sixteen of them for G H; eleven of them for IJ; and twenty-seven of them for K L.

We hereby certify that the above is a correct statement of the votes given in the county of and State of Michigan, for the offices of Governor and Lieutenant Governor of the state, at the general election holden on the
