The Lord is merciful and gracious, flow to anger, and plenteous in Mercy.

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger forever."

He hath not dealt with us after our Sins: nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

For as the Heaven is 'high above the Earth ; so great is his .mercy toward them that fear him.

As far as the East is from the West, so far hath he removed our Transgressions from us. PsaJ. 103. 8, 9, 10, 11, iz.

Come, and let us return unto the Lord : for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. Hos. 6. 1.

They that he whole need not a Thyfician, hut they that are Sick.

I am not come to call the Righteous, hut Sinners to Repentance. Matth. 9. iz, 13.

Deliver me from the Body of Sin and Death. Rom. 7.04.

These Places of Scripture feeing distinctly read and considered by the Sick Man, let him then most humbly make Jiis Confession ; and with the greatest earnestness beg Pardon for all his Sins. Which he may do in the following Forms.

A Cottfejfion of Sins.

ALmighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Maker of all things, Judge of all Men; I acknowledge and bewail my manifold Sins and Wickedness, Which from time to time I most grievously have committed, By Thought, Word, and Deed, against thy Divine Majesty. Particularly ■ (Here mention particular Sins.) Provoking most

justly thy Wrath and Indignation against me.

I do earnestly repent, and am heartily sorry for these my Misdoings. The remembrance of .them is grievous unto me; The burthen of them is intolerable.

"Have Mercy upon me, Have Mercy upon me, most Merciful Father j for thy Son , our Lord Jesus Christ's fake , Forgive me all that is past. And grant that I may ever hereafter serve and please thee in Newness of Life; To the Honour and Glory of thy Name, Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers for Pardon.

ALmighty God, our Heavenly Father, who of thy great Mercy hast promised Forgiveness of Sins , to all them that with hearty Repentance, and true Faith turn unto Thee ,* Have Mercy upon me; Pardon and deliver me from all my Sins; confirm and strengthen me in all Goodness; and bring me to everlasting Life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Death of a Sinner, but that he should rather turn from'his Sin, and be saved; mercifully forgive me my Trefpafles i receive and comfort me, who am, grieved and wearied, with the Burthen jof my Sins.

Thy Property is always . to have Mercy: To thee only, it appertaineth to forgive Sins. Spare me therefore, Good Lord, spare me whom thou hast redeemed; enter not into Judgment.with thy Servant, vile Earth, and a. miserable Sinner ,• but so turn shine Anget . from me, w ho meekly acknowledge my Yileness, and truly repent me of my Faults , and so make haste to help me in this World, that I may ever live with thee in the World to come, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
