These are very neat transcripts of charters of the kings and
nobles of Scotland, illustrated by historical notes and fac-
simile drawings of the seals appended to each. They are
dated from the twelfth to the fifteenth century.

The written pages are 279. This volume is bound to match
the preceding, of which it forms a second part. It is written
in the same hand, and contains various charters and instru-
ments relating to the History of Scotland, from the reign of
Richard I. of England.

4to. Press III, No. 105 This volume contains 55 original Italian charters of the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth centuries, all in Latin. Many of them relate to the City of Brescia, being leases of tenements, deeds of possession, contracts of marriages, &c.

This Manuscript may be extremely useful in ascertaining, from the character of the writing and the dates, the ages of Italian MSS. and documents of the same period, whose ages are unknown.

The title prefixed to this MS. in a modern hand is, "Regis-
"trum Cartarum Abbatiæ de Pipewell, in Agro Northamp
"toniensi, Ordinis Cisterciensis, A.D. 1143 fundatæ."

The written pages are 298, containing fair copies of the
original Charters, from the foundation of the Abbey in 1143
to the end of Henry the Third's reign, soon after which this
MS. was compiled.

The Charters amount to more than 470, and as Topographical and Historical Documents, relating to Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire, they are invaluable.

Press III, No. 85 THIS VALUABLE MS. IS OF VARIOUS HANDS, BUT ALL OF THE FOURTEENTH CENTURY, AND IT BELONGED TO THE PRIORY OF DURHAM BEFORE THE SUPPRESSION OF MONASTERIES.

It contains extensive information relating to the records of Durham. At folio 34 will be found a transcript of the "Boldon Buke sive descriptio terrarum et Episcopatus Dunelm, A.D. 1183 facta."

8vo. Press III, No. 86 THIS MS. CONSISTS OF 94 LEAVES. IT IS THE REGISTER OF BRINKBURNE PRIORY, IN NORTHUMBERLAND, founded IN THE REIGN OF HENRY I, BY WILLIAM De Bertram, BARON OF MITFORD. In 1630 this volume is said to have been in the possession of the Lord William Howard, of Naworth Castle, in Cumberland. The first leaf has since been lost. The documents it contains are very numerous, amounting to above 200, and there is much of the Border history in them, as well as of Cumberland, Northumberland, and the contiguous parts of Scotland, from the Conquest to the middle of the fourteenth century, soon after which this MS. was transcribed.

The written pages are 106. The title, in red ink, at the head
of the first page is "Registrum Cartarum Sacristar, S.
"Neoti ad festum Annunciationis S. Marie, Anno Incar-
"nationis Dni. M.CC. octog. Sexto, tempore fratris Wil-
"lelmi Le Caron."

The covers of wood are sheathed in red velvet, and on each side there is an enamelled ornament set in gold, with the motto, "fide, sed cui vide," alluding to the anonymous compiler, and to the fidelity of his transcript.

This MS. is in the handwriting of SIR NICHOLAS DETHICK,
WINDSOR HERALD, in 1585. The title of the first article
is stated thus: "Ffunerals sarvid to my knowledge, sithens
anno 1583."

The descriptions of funerals in this valuable MS. give the
date and place of the deceased's death, the arms of his
family, the names of the presiding heralds, and the order of
precedency of all ranks.

These Indentures were formerly preserved in the Pell Office, in the receipt of the Exchequer, but they are now deposited in the State Paper Office.

are descriptions of the Arms of the principal aboriginal
Families of Ireland, called the Milesians, which, observes
Dr. O'Conor, appear to be very accurate.
