BOOKSELLERS' SMALL-PARCEL DEPOT,

13, PATERNOSTER-ROW, LONDON.

Ir being expected that the increased facility to correspondence which will be given by the Act for reducing the rate of Postage on Letters will induce the Book, Music, and Print Sellers throughout the kingdom to communicate more frequently with their correspondents in London, the Publishers in London have considered it desirable that some arrangement should be made to prevent, if possible, any increase of expense to their country correspondents in the carriage of their parcels.

As the Country Booksellers will in many instances write to several parties at the same time, and receive from each a parcel too small for separate conveyance, it has been thought that if some place were opened to receive these parcels, where they would be packed together in one, and forwarded under the direction of the party to whom they are to be sent, the object would be accomplished.

For this purpose the BOOKSELLERS' SMALL-PARCEL DEPOT is established, and will be opened on the 1st January, 1840, to receive parcels not exceeding 14 lbs. in weight, which will be warehoused, packed together, and forwarded, direct or otherwise, according to the instructions of the parties to whom they may be addressed, free of any charge whatever.

The Country Booksellers will perceive that an establishment of this kind must be productive of several advantages. In addition to the saving that will be effected, it offers a greater security for the safety of their parcels than any mode at present adopted, and a greater certainty of their being regularly forwarded.

It will prevent much of the annoyance and inconvenience to which the large wholesale houses are subject by the present mode of enclosure, and to all parties it will be convenient as a place of reference, and for general information on various matters of business.

Any farther information that may be required will be readily furnished on applying to the

MANAGER, W. H. HAYDEN,
Music Publisher, &c. &c. 13, Paternoster Row.

The Postage not being reduced to 1d. as expected, the Country Trade may have their orders distributed by (4645)

the Depôt, by sending them under cover directed as above.
