In a convocation holden June 25, the Rev. Joseph Carter, B. D., fellow of St. John's college, and vicar of St. Giles's in the suburbs of Oxford, was unanimously elected Lecturer of that parish, the appointment being vested in the members of convocation.

Next day, in convocation, the nomination of the Rev. After the Vice-Chancellor had opened the convocation, the honorary degree of Doctor in Civil Law was conferred on Captain Sir Robert Tristram Ricketts, Bart., to which he was presented by the Rev.
