THE two last weeks of Lent are, in a particuli manner, consecrated to the Passion of Jesus Chris And, altho' that upon which we are now enterin be only a preparation to the following, and ti church represents therein other objects to o thoughts, the passion of Christ is nevertheless of referred to, for which reasou this day is called P BION-SUNDAY.

The Psalm Judica, as well as the Gloria Pa at the Introit, is omitted; and those who have a ten on the Liturgy, assert this to be agrecable the ancient practice. They further in general serve, that the particular ceremonies of these last weeks, but more especially of the three days in Lent, are venerable remains of and ilsages.

INTROIT. Ps. Ixii. Judica me, &o. JUDGE me, O God, and distinguish my from the nation that is not holy: deliver me the unjust and deceitful man; for thou art my and my strength. Ps. Send forth thy light an truth; for they have conducted me, and broug to thy holy mount, and into thy tabernacles.

Gloria Patri is omitted till Easter. COLLECT. Qnocesumus. Mercifully look on thy people, we beseech thee, O Almighty that, by thy bounty and protection, they m. governed and guarded both in body and soul.
