AN ACT PROVIDING FOR WEEKLY PAYMENTS TO EMPLOYES Passed March 4, OF CORPORATIONS. It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: SECTION 1. Every corporation, other than religious, literary or charitable corporations, and every incorporated city, but not including towns, shall pay weekly the employés engaged in its business the wages earned by them to within nine days of the date of such payment, unless prevented by inevitable casualty: Provided, however, that if at any time of payment any employé shall be absent from his place of labor, he shall be entitled to said payment at any time thereafter on demand. SEC. 2. Any corporation violating any of the provisions of this act shall be punished by a fine of not. less than one hundred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars, one-half thereof to the use of the complainant and the other half to the use of the State: 1891. Corporations weekly. and cities to pay Provided, complaint for such violation is made within thirty days from the date thereof. SEC. 3. This act shall take effect on and after the first day of May, A. D. 1891. 1891. CHAPTER 919. Passed March 5, AN ACT MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE STATE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING ON THE THIRTY-FIRST DAY OF DECEMBER, A. D. 1891. Appropriations for 1891. It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as may be authorized by law, are hereby appropriated to the objects hereinafter expressed, for the fiscal year ending on the thirty-first day of December, 1891, to be paid out of the several appropriations herein mentioned; and the state auditor is hereby authorized to draw his orders for such portion thereof as may be required from time to time, upon the receipt by him of properly authenticated vouchers. SALARIES. To the governor, three thousand dollars. To the lieutenant governor, five hundred dollars. To the secretary of state, twenty-five hundred dollars. To the attorney general, thirty-five hundred dollars. To the general treasurer, twenty-five hundred dollars. To the chief justice of the supreme court, fifty-five hundred dollars; and to the associate justices thereof, five thousand dollars each. To the state auditor, fifteen hundred dollars. To the insurance commissioner, one thousand dollars. To the commissioner of public schools, three thousand dollars. To the assistant attorney general, two thousand dol lars.
