COTTON.- The fovourable reports from Liverpool and Manchester bad little effect on the market last week, the greater proportion of the Bengals were taken on speculation; the sales were Bengals, ordinary to good, at 120 a 13. Pernams 2s. 2d. Pabias 23 d. a 25. Grenadas and Carriacon, 224. Surinams 2s. Id. Demeraras 2140. a 2s. Montserratts 1844. Bnwed: 18d. a 184d. St. Domingo at 1844. Smyrnas at 1740.

SUGAR. There was a greater disposition evinced last week to do business in Muscoraders, and as the holders were ready to meet the views of the buyers, hy sobmitting to a small depression, generally the prices were Is. a 28. lower; good working Jamaica Sugars were sold at 69s. 70s. and 71s. : some browo Suriname 678.; the grocers were the prin cipal perchasers. 174 hhds. 74 tierces Barbadoes Sugar were put up to public sale, the whole went off freely, but the prices were 28. a 3. lewer; fine White 925. 6d. a 95s, 6d. good 90s. a 92. ordinary and middling White from 828. a 889. middling brown 7ls. and 755. .

The delivery of Moscovades from the warehouses continues exceedingly extensive ; and this foreauon there is a very considerable revival in the demand; more business has been done thay for a considerable time past; the chief purchasers are from 70s. a 759. The prices are a shade higher.

The Refined market continues to decline, the holders still incline to give way ; brown Lumps were done at 100s. but the business effected in the market has been very trivial. Molasses were steady at 24s.

The demand for foreign Sugars has been very limited for a length of time; 300 boxes of Havannah were attempted by public sale last week; the first lot, middling White, was withdrawn at 65$. the whole of the Whites were then taken in at the same rate. After the first lot, good Brown had been taken in at 54s. the whole of the latter description were immediately withdrawn.

COFFEE.—This forenoon a small public sale was brought forward, consisting of British Plantation Coffee; the Jamaica descriptions in the sale went off with briskness at prices %, a 3s, higher than last week. Extensive parcels good ordinary selling at 658. a 658. 0d.; fine ordioary 67s, 68s, and 69s. The Dutch Coffee is without variation, and met a languid demand, middling being taken in at 759. 60.; good middling at 841. 6d. Generally the Coffre market may be stated improving, with the exception of the late sapplies from the cologies of Demerara and Berbice; and for the latter, to-day 2s. a 3s, more was ofered than could be realised last week; the prices, however, still rate exceedingly low.

PROVISIONS, &c.— There is more business doing in the Provision market-prime Beef and Pork are op the advance. Bacon continues in steady demand, the consumption considerahle. The supply of Irish Butter is very extensive, and it is stated, that parcels on the pasage are offering considerably under the first cost price.

HEMP, FLAX, TALLOW, &c.—The prices of iallow are without variation, the mar. kat remains heavy; Yellow Candle, in large parcels, at last prices.-- In Hemp or Flax there is so little doing, that the prices are in a great measore nominal. By letters yesterday from St. Petersburgh, the Exchange had again declined ; it was a shade under 10.

SPICES.-- There appears rather a reviving demand for Spices, but, on account of the , dult state of trade, the buyers are of opinion they can purchase almost every article at an excessive low rate. The offers for good privilege Pepper were a fraction under our last quotation, but the holders were firm at and above that rate ; the conseqnence was, very lit. ile business was effected. Company's Nuimegs and Cinnamon find purchasers. There has ako been more inquisers after Company's Cloves. Several parcels of Jamaica nnd Barba. does Ginger were brought forward hy public sale last week, and met a ready sale at the late prices. Pimento, also, in very considerable parcels; the demand appears very consider. able,

TOBACCO.-There are considerable orders from the Continent for Tobacco, hut so limited as to price, that tbey cannot be al present executed. Some newly arrived Brazil Leaf was sold last week at 6 d.

OILS,- The prices of Greenland Whale Oil are advancing, no accounts of the success of the fisheries having been yet riceived. The trade purchase sparingly; South Sea may be stated 11. higher. Linseed Oil may be stated a shade lower; the prices of rape are improving: in the other descriptions there is little variation.

RUM, BRANDY, AND HOLLANDS.-Rum cannot be stated lower, except fine Jamaica. Two considerable contracts of fine invoured 3ds have been effected at 2d per gallon lower than what was considered the market currency. There was a public sale this farenoon of Leeward Islaod Rom, bonded from April to October, 1815, proof and over, sold from 28. 3d, a 2s.6d, of a fair qnality, but, from being landed so long. the deficiency would probahly be two gallons per puncheon. Common Jamaica 3s. Id. a 3s. 2d. tbe whale went off freely.

SILK.- The prices of East India silk are nominal, on account of the commencement of the Company's sale.

NAVAL 'STORES.-There have been no arrivals of Rough Turpentine last week; Some parrels, formerly at' market, bave, however, been sold at a depression. The prices of Tas may generally be slaied at a diade lywer; Rosin also at a smail depression.
