24. Very suddenly, the Rev. Alexander Duncan, D.D. rector of Wholton, and vicar of Bolam, in Northumberland. This gentleman had that day been meeting several of his parishioners, with a view to the enforcement of what are called the agistment tythes, to which the parish had never before been subject, and which was likely to prove a source of discussian between the minister and his flock.

Sincerely regretted by all her friends, and deeply lamented by her surviving husband and eight children, Mrs Charles Dibdin, late wife of Mr. Dibdin, jun. of Sadler's Wells, aged 35: a most exemplary wife and mother, of unassuming manners, and possessing a kindness of heart which endeared her to all who had the good fortune to know her. Though professionally placed in public life, no family ever enjoyed a more domestic system of rational and respectable private happiness than that which is now deprived of one of its best examples and its most brilliant ornaments.

A new poem, entitled, Emigration; or, England and Paris, will be published in a few days.

In the press, to be published by subscription, by J. Asperne, in two volumes, 8vo, Sermons on Practical Subjects, by the Rev. Henry G. White, curate of Allhallows, Barking, lecturer of St. Mary's Rotherhithe, one of the preachers at the Asylum for Female Orphans, and chaplain to H.R.H. the Duke o Kent.

Mr. Pope will shortly publish a new edition of his Abridgement of the Laws of the Customs and Excise, brought down to the present time.

A new edition of Mr. Harmer's Observations a various Passage of Scripture, with many important additions and corrections, by Adam Clarke, LL.D. F.S.A. will be published in a very few days, in 4 vols. 8vo. Memoirs of ANTЯovy Power, Esq. the short elderly gentleman, of specious manners and insinuating address, and who has been very ingeniously prac-ising for the last twenty year upon the public credulity, and obtained, by various pretences, property to a considerable amount, chiefly from book

sellers, tailors, silversmiths, cutlers, &c. &c. sent addressed to him, per coach, to Streat ham, Stepney, Reading, Henley, Bromley, Bath, Bedford, Ilchester, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bath, Bristol, and most of the provincial towns and cities in England, is in the press, to warn the public not to be again the dupe of his original practices.-(Vide European Intelligencer, June, July, and August.)
