Excerpt: ...In marking your ballot, you must observe the following rules: If you desire to vote a straight ticket, that is, for each and every candidate of one party for whatever office nominated, you should make a cross x mark in the circle above the name of the party at the head of the ticket. If you desire to vote a split ticket, that is, for candidates of different parties, you should not make a cross x mark in the circle above the name of any party, but should make a cross X mark in the voting space before the name of each candidate for whom you desire to vote on whatever ticket he may be.
