The foregoing copies having been coloured expressly by THOMAS LEWIN, at considerable expense, are finished in the very best manner, and are greatly superior to the original ones, which are carelessly executed, and have the appearance of being little more than washed. The impression of the text having been limited to the number of subscribers, (which were very few,) copies are rarely met with even in the most splendid libraries. At the sale of the Bibliotheca Parisina, one of the usual and inferior copies, containing only 107 plates, brought 231. 2s.
