HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

SPECIAL SESSION, 1872.

During the special session of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, begun and held in the City of Indianapolis, on Wednesday, the 13th day of November, A. D., 1872, being the day fixed for the meeting of the same by the following proclamation of the Governor of the State of Indiana, calling the said special session:

PROCLAMATION.

STATE OF INDIANA,

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS, The public welfare requires that the General Assembly of the State of Indiana should be convened in special session :

Therefore, In pursuance of the constitutional provision on that subject, I, CONRAD BAKER, Governor of the State of Indiana, do, by this Proclamation, call a Special Session of said General Assembly, to be held at the State House, in Indianapolis, commencing at

2 o'clock P. M. of Wednesday, the 13th day of November, A. D., 1872, hereby requiring the members and the members elect thereof to meet at their respective Halls of Legislation, in said State House, at the time above designated.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name, and caused the seal of the State to be affixed at the City of [L. S.] Indianapolis, this 22d day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

In obedience to the foregoing proclamation the members of the House of Representatives convened in their hall on the day and hour above mentioned.

The Clerk of the last regular session, Samuel W. Holmes, called the House to order, and upon a call of the districts the following members presented their credentials, and were duly sworn as Representatives of the General Assembly by the Hon. Samuel H. Buskirk, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Indiana.
