PSALM XVIII. VERSE, TENOR, AND BASS. 94.

1. I will love thee, O Lord, my strength : the Lord is my stony rock, and my defence ; my Saviour, my God, and my might, in whom I will trust; my buckler, the horn also of my salvation, and my refuge. .

SOLO TENOR. 2. I will call upon the Lord, which is worthy to be praised : so shall I be safe from mine enemies.

SOLO BASS. 3. The sorrows of death compassed me: and the overflowings of ungodliness made me afraid.

4. The pains of hell came about me: the snares of death overtook me.

5. In my trouble I will call upon the Lord, and complain unto my God.

VERSE, TENOR, AND BASS. 6. So shall he hear my voice out of his holy temple: and my complaint shall come before him; it shall enter even into his ears.

FULL, FOUR VOICES. 7. The earth trembled and quaked : the very foundations of the hills shook, and were removed, because he was wroth.

VERSE, TENOR, AND BASS. 13. The Lord also thundered out of heaven, and the Highest gave his thunder: hailstones and coals of fire. :

16. He shall send down from on high to fetch me : and shall take me out of many waters.

1. Bow down thy ear, O Lord, and hear me : for I am poor and in misery.

COUNTER TENOR, TENOR, AND BASS. 4. Comfort the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

5. For thou, Lord, art good and gracious : and of great mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

SOLO COUNTER TENOR. 9. All nations whom thou hast made, shall come and worship thee: and glorify thy name.

10. For thou art great, and dost wondrous things : thou art God alone.

COUNTER TENOR, TENOR AND BASS. 14. O God, the proud are risen against me: and the congregations of naughty men have sought after my soul.

VERSE AND FULL. 16. O turn thee then unto me, and have mercy upon me: give thy strength unto thy servant.

PSALM LXI., 5.-Thou, O Lord, hast heard our desire; and hast given an heritage unto those that fear thy name.

6. Thou shalt grant the King a long life: that his years may endure throughout all generations.

VERSE AND FULL. 8. His dominion shall be also from one sea to the other.

SOLO COUNTER TENOR. PSALM LXI., 7.-He shall dwell before God for ever : O prepare thy loving mercy and faithfulness, that they may preserve him.

VERSE AND FULL. Psalm CXXXII., 19.—As for his enemies, clothe them with shame: but upon himself let his crown flourish. Amen.

33. I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will praise my God while I have my being.

10. Wherefore my heart was glad, and my glory rejoiced: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

FULL. 11. For why ? thou shalt not leave my soul in hell: neither shalt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption.

VERSE AND FULL. 12. Thou shalt shew me the path of life; in thy presence is the fulness of joy: and at thy right hand there is pleasure for evermore.
