1. Out of the deep have I called unto thee, O Lord Lord, hear my voice.

2. O let thine ear consider well: the voice of my complaint.

3. For if thou, Lord, wilt be extreme to mark what is done amiss: O Lord, who may abide it? 4. For there is mercy with thee: therefore shalt thou be feared. Aldrich.

1. O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is gracious and his mercy endureth for ever. Hallelujah. Aldrich.

PSALM XLIV. FULL AND VERSE, FOUR VOICES. 45.

1. We have heard with our ears, O God, and our fathers have told us of thy mighty works, that thou hast done in their time of old.

2. How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plant them in.

3. For they gat not the land by their own sword: it was not their own arm that helped them.

4. But it was thy right hand, thine arm, and the light of thy countenance.

5. Thou art my king, O God: send help unto Jacob.

6. Through thee will we overthrow our enemies and in thy name will we tread them down that rise up against us.

1. Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give the praise for thou art faithful in all thy works, and just in all thy ways.

1. I am well pleased: that the Lord hath heard the voice of my prayer.

2. That he hath inclined his ear unto me: therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. 3. The snares of death compassed me round about: and the pains of hell gat hold upon me.

4. I have found trouble and heaviness, and I did call upon the name of the Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

5. Gracious is the Lord, and righteous yea, our Lord is merciful.

6. The Lord preserveth the simple: when I was in misery, he delivered me.

7. Turn again then unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath rewarded thee.

8. For he hath delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, my feet from falling.

9. I shall walk before the Lord: in the land of the living.

PSALM XLVI. FULL, FIVE VOICES AND VERSE. 49.

1. God is our hope and strength: a very present help in trouble.

2. Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be moved and though the hills be carried into the midst of the sea.

3. Though the waters rage and swell and though the mountains shake at the tempest of the

same.

4. The rivers of the floods thereof shall make glad the city of God.

5. God is in the midst of her, therefore she shall not be removed.

6. The heathen make much ado, the kingdoms of the earth are moved: but God hath shewed his voice, and the earth shall melt away.

19. Thy beauty, O Israel, is slain upon the high places how are the mighty fallen!

20. Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.

21. Ye mountains of Gilboa let there be no dew, neither let there be rain upon you, nor fields

of offerings for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil.

22. From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty. VERSE, TWO TENORS, AND BASS.

23. Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their deaths they were not divided.

24. Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet; who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel.

25. How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle!
