PSALM XLII., 1.-Like as the hart desires the water-brooks: so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

2. My soul is athirst for God, yea, even for the living God: when shall I come to appear before the presence of God?

8. My God, my soul is vexed within me: therefore will I remember thee.

11. I will say unto the God of my strength: why hast thou forgotten me.

PSALM XLIII., 3.-O send out thy light and thy truth, that they may lead me: and bring me to thy holy hill, and to thy dwelling.

4. Even unto the altar of God: the God of my joy and gladness.

5. Why art thou so vexed, O my soul and why art thou so disquieted within me.

6. O put thy trust in God: which is the help of my countenance, and my God.

PSALM XXII., 1.-My God, my God, look upon me why hast thou forsaken me? and art so far from my health, and from the words of my complaint?

RECITATIVE, tenor.

2. O my God, I cry in the day-time; but thou hearest not, and in the night-season also I take

no rest.

3. And thou continuest holy: O thou worship of Israel!

7. All they that see me laugh me to scorn; they shoot out their lips, and shake their heads, saying,

8. He trusted in God, that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, if he will have him.

14. I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart also in the midst of my body is even like melting wax.

1. O God, thou art my God: early will I seek thee.

2. My soul thirsteth for thee: my flesh also longeth after thee in a barren and dry land where no water is.

3. Thus have I looked for thee in holiness: that I might behold thy power and glory.

4. For thy loving-kindness is better than life itself: my lips shall praise thee.

5. As long as I live will I magnify thee on this manner and lift up my hands in thy name.

8. Because thou hast been my helper: therefore under the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

1. O God of my righteousness, hear me when I call thou hast set me at liberty when I was in trouble; have mercy upon me, and hearken unto my prayer.

pheme mine honour and have pleasure in vanity? 3. Know this, the Lord hath chosen to himself the man that is godly.

9. I will lay me down in peace, and take my rest for it is thou, O Lord, that makest me to dwell in safety.

5. Offer the sacrifice of righteousness.

4, 5. Stand in awe, and sin not: and put your trust in the Lord.

PSALM CXLVIII., 1.-O praise the Lord of heaven: praise him in the height.

2. Praise him, all ye angels of his : praise him, all his host.

4. Praise him, all ye heavens and ye waters that are above the heavens.

5. Let every thing that hath breath, praise the name of the Lord: for he spake, and they were made; he commanded, and they were created.
