were delivered to day (about 12 and I o'clock): the demand became immediate and extensive, and a further advance of 33. # to 4s, was obtained, yet the rise was so various, and the market so fluctuating, that we are at a loss to give quotations, as there have been no public sales to fix the prices. Coffee may, however, be stated 3s. to 4s. above our quotations; St. Domingo has I realized 1539, and in one instance 156s. SUGAR.-There has been a steady and rather extensive demand for Muscovades; the prices are without any variation. The demand for Refined goods has not been so extensive this week as in the one preceding, iyet from the very limited supplies at market, no depression is anticipated.-Molasses have rather given way. There has lately been an extensive demand for Foreign Sugars; 1742 chests Havannah were brought forward by public sale, the whole went off freely, much about the prices by private contract-White fine and strong, 71s. to 73s.; middling, 68s. 6d. to 70s.; yellow, good, 51s. 6d. to 54s. ordinary, 50s, to 51s.; brown, fine, 48s, COTTON.-The Cotton market continoes heavy the sales since our last are very limited; the languid state of the market is ascribed to the great number of mills which have been shut up on account of the high wages demanded by the workmen. On Tuesday 6000 hhds, were sold at an advance of 2s. to 38.; since then the request has subsided, and the few sales made are again at a decline of Is. to 29.; it is however proper to mention, that many of the holders will submit to no depression, and in consequence for the present they do not effect sales.
