SUGAR.-The demand for Muscovades continued steady last week; the business done was not extensive, yet the scarcity of good strong Sugars is becoming already apparent, and for such descriptions the holders were again asking a small advance, and in several instances prices a shade higher were realised.

The public sale of Barbadoes Sugar this forenoon consisted of 92 hhds. 20 fierces, the whole of a very indifferent quality went off with much briskness at prices again Is. per cwt, higher; yellow 81s. 6d. a 83s. 6d.; middling white, with a good deal of colour, 90s, a 91s. 6d.

In Refined goods the principal purchasers were the wholesale grocers, and some par. cels were reported to be taken for the Mediterranean; for immediate shipping there was little doing. The purchases of Lumps have lately been so considerable, that few remain on sale. Crushed Sugars in several instances were purchased a shade lower, and there are buyers for parcels deliverable about 1st March at 60s, and 61s, yet the refiners shew no inclination to comply with these offers. Towards the close of last week Molasses, which had been very heavy for some time, again were in request; and today the price is 37s. 6d. a 38s.

There were no public sale this forenoon; the request by private contract continues, but the greater proportion of Coffee being held by speculators, who will not sell at the present prices, there is little offering. 130s, has this morning been sold at as advance of 6s, per cwt.

IRISH PROVISIONS, &c.-The Provision market remains exceedingly heavy, the prices of Beef and Pork cannot be stated at any variation. The weather is still exceedingly mild, yet no considerable reduction can be stated in Butters.
