16 O turn thee then unto me, and have mercy up- on me give thy strength unto thy servant, and help the 23 son of thine handmaid.

2 For my soul is full of trouble and my life draweth 23 nigh 'un-5 to "hell.

4 Free among the dead,* like unto them that are wounded, and lie in the grave who are out of remembrance, and are cut a-23 way 'from 5thy hand. 5 Thou hast laid me in the low-3est pit in a place of darkness, 23 and in 5the 'deep.

9 My sight faileth for 2ver-3y trouble LORD, I have called daily upon thee,* I have stretched forth my 23 hands un-5 to thee.

10 Dost thou show wonders a-2mong 3 the dead: or shall the dead rise up 3a-gain, 5 and 6 praise thee? 11 Shall thy loving-kindness be showed in the grave or thy faithfulness 2in 3de-45 struc- tion? 12 Shall thy wondrous works be known in the dark and thy righteousness in the land where all 3 things are for-gotten?

13 Unto thee have I cried, 23 O LORD: and early shall my 23 prayer come "be- "fore thee.

14 LORD, why abhorrest thou 3my 'soul and hidest thou 3thy face 5 from me?

15 I am in misery,* and like unto him that is at the point to 'die even from my youth up thy terrors have I suffered with 3 a 4 trou- 5 bled mind.

16 Thy wrathful displeasure goeth 20-3 ver 'me : and the fear of thee 2hath 3un-45 done me.

17 They came round about me daily 23 like 'water and compassed me to-2gether on 'eve-5 ry 6 side.

MY song shall be alway of the loving-kindness 2 of the LORD with my mouth will I ever be showing thy truth from one gener-2a-3tion to 5 an-other.

2 For I have said, Mercy shall be set up for 4ever thy truth shalt thou stab-3lish in the 6 heavens.

3 I have made a covenant with my chosen : I have sworn unto 23 Da-vid 5my servant: 4 Thy seed will I stablish for 23 ev-1er and set up thy throne from one gener-2a-3 tion to 5an6 other.

5 O LORD, the very heavens shall praise thy won3drous works and thy truth in the congre- 2ga3tion of the saints.

6 For who is he a-mong the clouds that shall be com-2pared 3un-* to 5the LORD?

7 And what is he a-2mong the 'gods that shall be like 3 un-4 to 5 the LORD!

8 God is very greatly to be feared* in the council

and to be had in reverence of all

9 O LORD God of hosts, who is like 2un-3 to thee thy truth, most mighty LORD, 2is 3on 1eve5ry side.

10 Thou rulest the raging of the sea thou stillest the waves thereof 23 when they 5a- rise.

11 Thou hast subdued Egypt, and de-2stroy-3ed 4it thou hast scattered thine enemies abroad with 3thy might-5 y 6arm.

12 The heavens are thine, the earth also 3is 4thine thou hast laid the foundation of the round world,* and all that there- 5in is.

13 Thou hast made the north and the south : Tabor and Hermon shall re- 23joice in 5thy Name. 14 Thou hast a might-3y arm strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.

15 Righteousness and equity are the habitation 2 of thy seat mercy and truth shall go 3be-fore 5thy face.

16 Blessed is the people, O LORD, that can rejoice in thee they shall walk in the light 2 of 3thy coun-te-nance.

17 Their delight shall be daily in 3thy Name : and in thy righteousness shall 3they make their 6 boast.

18 For thou art the glory of their strength : and in thy loving-kindness thou shalt 23 lift up our 6 horns.

20 Thou spakest sometime in visions unto thy 2 saints, and saidst : I have laid help upon One that is mighty, I have exalted One chosen 23 out of 5 the people.
