My time is not yet come: but your time is tabernacles was at always ready. The world cannot hate you ; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. Go ye up unto this feast : I go not up yet unto this feast ; for my time is not yet full come.

S. John vii. 2, 6 - 8.

He asked his disciples,

The Christ of God

Whom do men say that I, the Son of man, am ? . But whom say ye that I am ? . Blessed Peter answering art thou, Simon Bar-jona : for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and on this rock I will build my church : and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven : and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven ; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. .

The Son of man must suffer many things, them to tell no man. and be rejected of the elders, and chief priests, and scribes, and be slain, and be raised again the third day..

When Jesus knew that his disciples murmured,

Doth this offend you? What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before ? It is the spirit that quickeneth ; the flesh profiteth nothing : the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. But there are some of you that believe not.. Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me except it were given unto him of my Father. .

Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on; and they shall scourge him, and put him to death; and the third day he

The hour is come that the Son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone : but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be : if any man serve me, him will my Father honor.

Now is my soul troubled ; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour : but for this cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name. .

e This voice came not because en saying to have of me, but for your sakes. Now will glorify it again. is the judgment of this world : now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.. Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you : for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.

Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and

S. Matt. xxvi. 2.

YE know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

Go and prepare us the passover that we may eat. . Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water ; follow him into the house where he entereth in. And ye shall say unto the good man of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guest-chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples ?. My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house. . And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished : there make ready.

When the even was
come he sat down
with the twelve.

With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you, before I suffer. For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. .

And as they did eat, Jesus took bread and blessed and brake it, and gave it to them. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them.

Take, eat : this is my body which is given for you. . This do in remembrance of me. .

This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. . Drink ye all of it ; for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. . This do ye as oft as ye drink it in remembrance of me. .

Take this and divide it among yourselves. . But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship among them, which over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye shall not be so : but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger ; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth ? Is not he that sitteth at meat ? But I am among you as he that serveth. Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations; and I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; that ye may eat and drink at my table in my
