Removal of the Deposites.

I will not undertake to decide which is the more perspicuous document, but will leave it to be decided by those who have more skill in such comparisons than I have.

In what manner, and for what purpose, was the present Secretary of the Treasury brought into office? Sir, he came into office through a breach in the constitution; and his very appointment was the means of violating the law and the public faith. He was brought into his present station to be the instrument of executive usurpation. Nor is this a mere matter of criticism.
