O Lord, open thou our lips;

And our mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

Hide us under the shadow of thy wings.
Teach us to number our days;

That we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
O Lord, hear our prayer;

And let our crying come unto thee.

Then the Collect for the Day, after which the Collects following.

For Protection.

LMIGHTY God, who seest that we have no

power of ourselves to help ourselves; Keep us both outwardly in our bodies, and inwardly in our souls; that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt the soul, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For Mercy.

GOD, the protector of all that trust in thee, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy; Increase and multiply upon us thy mercy; that, thou being our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we finally lose not the things eternal; Grant this, O heavenly Father, for Jesus Christ's sake our Lord, Amen.

For the Ministry.

LORD Jesu Christ, who at thy first coming didst send thy messenger to prepare thy way before thee; Grant that the ministers and stewards of thy mysteries may likewise so prepare and make ready thy way, by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, that at thy second coming to judge the world we may be found an acceptable people in thy sight, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

ALMIGHTY God, the fountain of all goodness,

we humbly beseech thee to bless Adelaide the Queen Dowager, the Prince Albert, the Prince of Wales, and all the Royal Family: Endue them with thy holy Spirit; enrich them with thy heavenly grace; prosper them with all happiness; and bring them to thine everlasting kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. THE THANKSGIVINGS.

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord. And to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High. To shew forth thy loving kindness in the morning.

And thy faithfulness every night.

LORD God of our salvation, who hast been

exceedingly gracious unto thy people; we here now before thee, with thankfulness acknowledge thine unspeakable goodness unto us, (especially) and offer unto thee our sacrifice of praise for the same; humbly beseeching thee to accept this our unfeigned, though unworthy, oblation of

ourselves; vowing all holy obedience in thought, word, and work, unto thy Divine Majesty; to whom be honour and glory for ever and ever.

Praised be the Lord daily.

Who holdeth our souls in life.

And suffereth not our feet to slip. Amen.

Prayer of St. Chrysostom.

ALMIGHTY God, who hast given us grace

at this time with one accord to make our common supplications unto thee; and dost promise, that when two or three are gathered together in thy Name thou wilt grant their requests: Fulfil now, O Lord, the desires and petitions of thy servants, as may be most expedient for them; granting us in this world knowledge of thy truth, and in the world to come life everlasting. Amen. The Benedictory Prayer.

THE very God of Peace, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, be with us and sanctify us wholly; and preserve our spirit and soul and body blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
