Tillable, 75 per cent; surface soil, dark, sandy loam; subsoil, porous clay.

Untillable, 25 per cent; mostly on account of roughness along streams; some of it very sandy, mostly good grazing.

Wells-At least three artesian wells, from 500 to 700 feet deep; rest from 10 to 100 feet deep, partly underflow, but mostly veins; supply abundant; numerous springs.

Alfalfa has been sown to a limited extent and succeeds well.

Sugar beets succeed well.

smooth, fertile; rest of southeast quarter rolling, fertile.

T. 9. West third rolling, fertile prairie; rest consists of undulating, fertile prairie and valley of Salt creek, fertile.

Southeast quarter, undulating, fertile, includes valley of West Salt creek; rest rolling, fertile prairie.

North third rolling, fertile, with a few gravelly points; rest gently undulating table land.
