TO READERS AND CORRESPONDENTS.

THE paper on "Sporting in the Australian Colonies" is not suited to our pages: it is left for the Author at the office.

"Connemara Fishing" is not up to our standard: it is, also, left for the Author, at 191, Regent-street.

A Sunday Journal, in its notice of the August Number of the SPORTING REVIEW, has this passage: "The illustrations are, 'Crucifix,' by Prior, after Herring; 'Salmon Netting," by ditto, after Hair; 'The Goodwood Cup;' and a Plan of 'Epsom Downs.' The latter we consider so valuable, that, if we did not regularly take the Magazine, we should buy the Number for the Map alone. We trust this will be followed by plans of Newmarket, Liverpool, Ascot, Goodwood, and Doncaster." We beg to inform the writer of that review that the Map of Newmarket Heath, with all its courses, was given in our June Number; and, that arrangements have been made to bring out all the leading Race-courses in England upon a similar plan.

The letter of our Konisburgh Correspondent has been received, and his request attended to: the Sketches from the North of Prussia and the Russian Frontiers will be very acceptable.

"A Subscriber to the SPORTING REVIEW, at Darlington," has our best thanks; his arrangement is most considerate and kind: we shall look with anxiety for the communications to which he alludes. The "Raby Massacre" is, indeed, a "sorry sight."

The account of the return match, at Southampton, between the gentlemen of the South Hants Club with Wenman and Lillywhite, and the Mary-le-bone Club and Ground, we regret, arrived too late: South Hants won.

Several works reached us too late for notice in the present Number. The Editor has to request that duplicates may be kept of all short articles sent for insertion in this work, as he cannot undertake to return them.
