SECTION 3. SECTION 4. For the relief of John Woodcock and others, soldiers and widows of soldiers of the Revolutionary and Indian wars.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority State treasur'r of the same, That the state treasurer be and he is hereby to pay widows authorized and required to pay unto John Woodcock, of Potter of soldiers in county, John Nicholas Kester, of Clinton county, Jane HarPotter, Clin- bison, late of Chester county, now of Wilmington, Delaware, ton, Delaware, Rebecca Blair, of Northumberland county, Ruth Mathiot, of Fayette and Fayette county, and Jacob Dagon, of Washington county, Washington soldiers and widows of soldiers of the Revolutionary and Indian wars, or to their respective orders, forty dollars each, immediately, as a gratuity, and an annuity of forty dollars each, during life, payable half yearly, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and forty-one.

AN ACT

To Incorporate the Black Creek Iron and Coal Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Gideon Scull, John Livezey, NewCorporators comb B. Thompson, their associates, successors and assigns, be and they are hereby constituted a body politic and corporate, by the name, style and title of the "Black Creek Iron and Coal company," for manufacturing iron with anthracite and mining coal, with a capital of two hundred thousand dol lars. And the said company may hold not exceeding two thousand acres of land in Sugar Loaf township, Luzerne county, and Lausanne township, Northampton county, and shall have power to locate and construct a rail road with one or more tracks, from any point on their lands, to any convenient point of intersection with the railroad authorized to be constructed by the Hazleton coal company, or with the railroad authorized To have same to be constructed by the Hanover coal company, as may appowers, &c as Hazleton and pear most expedient. And the company hereby incorporated, Hanover coal shall have the same powers and immunities, and be subject to companies the same terms and conditions, that are provided in the acts to incorporate the said Hazleton and Hanover coal companies: Provided, That an annual return to the auditor general of the amount of dividends shall be made, under oath or affirmation of the president or secretary, and that six per cent of said amount, when the same shall exceed six per cent, shall be paid into the state treasury.

AN ACT

To authorize the Governor to Incorporate a Company to erect a Bridge over the Lackawaxen, at or near Paupack Eddy, in the county of Wayne.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That David Bishop, Joseph Atkinson, Commis'rs Jonathan Brink, Reuben R. Purdy, Otto Kimble, Moses Killam and Royal Taft, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners, to do and perform the several duties hereinafter mentioned—that is to say: they shall on or before the first day of June next, procure one or more books for taking subscriptions of stock, and shall write therein as follows: We whose Form of subnames are hereunto subscribed, do promise to pay to the scription president, managers and company, for erecting a bridge over the Lackawaxen river, at or near Paupack Eddy, in the county of Wayne, the sum of twenty dollars for every share of stock in said company, set opposite to our respective names, in such manner and proportions, and at such times as may be determined by the president and managers, in pursuance of an act of assembly entitled "An act to authorize the Governor to incorporate a company to erect a bridge over the Lackawaxen river, at or near Paupack Eddy, in the county of Wayne." upon give notice, in one or more newspapers printed in the Notice

where the books shall be open to receive subscriptions of stock
to the aforesaid company; at which time and place, some one
or more of said commissioners shall attend for that purpose;
which books shall be kept open for the purpose aforesaid, at
least six hours in each day, whereof notice as aforesaid shall
have been given, or until the said books shall have subscribed
therein three hundred shares. And the said commissioners
may adjourn from time until the whole number of shares
aforesaid shall be subscribed.

SECTION 2. When twenty or more persons shall have subscribed fifty shares, and paid one dollar on each and every share subscribed by them respectively, the said commissioners, or a majority of them, shall certify under their hands and seals to the Governor, the names of the subscribers and the
