Proceedings had at the Twenty-Fifth Annual Meeting of the Missouri Bar Association, held at the Commercial Club Rooms, Kansas City, Missouri, December 12 and 13, 1907.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12, 1907.

FORENOON SESSION.

The meeting was called to order by Hon. Sanford B. Ladd, the president, at 10.45 a. m.

An invocation was pronounced by Rev. Dr. S. M. Neel, of Kansas City, the members standing during the prayer.

The President: First in the order of exercises is the address of welcome by Mr. R. J. Ingraham, president of the Kansas City Bar Association.

Mr. Ingraham; Mr. President and Gentlemen of the Missouri Bar Association: In behalf of the Kansas City Bar Association, I want to extend to you formally what I hope you already have-the hearty welcome of the Kansas City Bar Association. It is a great honor to have an organization such as this select our home as its place of meeting. Our city has a reputation as a Convention City, and while we have recently been disappointed in our ambitions to bring the National Republican Convention here, except from the money-getting side of it, we will profit more from this kind of convention than we would from the Republican National Convention. Personally, I don't care very much about Republican National Conventions. I take the same view of them as I do of a circus that comes to town. But, speaking
