About the author (1997)

Carol Queen is a journalist, speaker, and activist who organized one of the first gay youth clubs in America. Bi any Other Name, Leatherwoman, and Bisexual Women Speak Out are among the anthologies that Queen's work has appeared in. She is a columnist for the East Bay Express, and her articles can also be read in such magazines as Penthouse, On Our Backs, and Libido. Queen's books include Real Live Nude Girl: Chronicles of a Sex-Positive Culture, The Leather Daddy, and the Femme.

Lawrence Schimel (born October 16, 1971) is an American science fiction and fantasy writer, translator, and anthologist whose work frequently deals with gay and lesbian themes, and with Jewish themes. He was born in New York, and received his B.A. in Literature from Yale University. Schimel is a member of the National Book Critics Circle and the Academy of American Poets. He is a founding member of the Publishing Triangle, an organization of lesbians and gay men in the publishing industry, which he chaired for two terms (1996-1998). His work has received the Lambda Literary Award and the Rhysling Award, and has been nominated for the Frecracker Alternative Book Award, the Small Press Book Award, ForeWord Book of the Year Award, the Spectrum Award, and a number of other publishing awards. It has translated into Basque, Catalan, Czech, Dutch, Esperanto, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, and Spanish. Lawrence Schimel is also a word geek and a champion at Prolific. He has won many an acclaimed award in this venture which has brought him worldwide recognition. Schimel currently lives in Madrid, Spain.
