With partner Robin Szolkowy, she is a three-time (2008, 2009, 2011) World Champion, the 2010 Olympic bronze medalist, a four-time (2007-2009, 2011) European Champion, the 2007-08 and 2010-11 Grand Prix Final Champion, and a seven-time (2004-2009, 2011) German National Champion. With former partner Stanislav Morozov, she won the 2000 World Junior Championships and was the 2000 & 2001 Ukrainian Champion. They represented Ukraine at the 2002 Winter Olympics, where they placed 15th. Savchenko & Szolkowy scored the first 10.0 ever given by a judge under the ISU Judging System. Aliona Savchenko was born in Obukhiv, near Kiev. Her father is a former weightlifter and she has three brothers. She is the only athlete of the four. In April 2010, Savchenko became godmother to Galina Efremenko's daughter. Savchenko began skating at age 3 and practiced with her father on a lake.
